As North America revs up for New Years parties other parts of the world are already revving down.

Millions of revellers rang in the new year with fireworks and parties stretching into the wee hours of 2008, while billions more wait for the clock to strike midnight.

In Sydney, Australia, crowds packed the streets as fireworks showered the city's iconic Harbour Bridge in the annual display.

Fireworks light up the sky over Canberra City 8 seconds into the New Year of 2008. The display lasted for 9 minutes. Unlike what was reported about the Sydney event, I had no trouble finding a clear view of the fireworks.

Lots of people wait near Taipei 101 for New Years eve fireworks. And it was amazing to see lots of fireworks shot from building like a fireworks tree.

I've been to Sydney and I work in the fireworks trade.

I am anxious to know if anyone knows what firm orchestrates the Sydney, AU New Years Fireworks Display?
