Aqsa Parvez, 16 year old girl in Mississauqa Toronto, died after being rushed to the hospital Monday after her father called authorities to report he had murdered his daughter.
Friends of the young girl claim she did not want to go home and was even considering going to a shelter. Friends report the young girl was clashing with her parents over her head scarf. Young Parvez did not want to wear the head scarf and this outraged her father.
Mohamed Elmasry of the Canadian Islamic Congress issued the following statement, “I don’t want the public to think that this is really an Islamic issue or an immigrant issue, It is a teenager issue.” I don’t know about you but I don’t know many parents who kill their teenagers when they dress in a way displeasing to their parents.I looked up Mohamed Elmasy on the Official Islamic Canadian Congress website and was shocked to discover an entire section of the webpage dedicated to Jihad, and how Jihad was a good peaceful act done to promote justice. The exact quote on the page reads “Jihad in Islam is waging peace and justice. Jihad is a war against unjust, oppression, exploitation, tyranny, fear, corruption and denying the masses basic human rights (4:75-76) and to establish justice, peace, freedom, especially freedom of religion, security, equity and social justice (2:193).”
The young girl’s father is expected in court today and remains in custody.
