The individual guarantees of mexico's indigenous people are violated every day, according to a report from the country's federal human rights commission.

Areas such as health, education, social and economic rights and housing are hugely vunerable for the country's indigenous people, says the report, which coincides with the signing of a Declaration for the Rights of Indigenous People in the UN last week.

Indigenous Rights Violated in Mexico

Mexico, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) The Mexican Federal District Human Rights Commission denounced on Wednesday that the individual guarantees of Mexican indigenous people are violated daily both in legal and elemental aspects of their lives.

Research by activist Alejandra Nuño showed vulnerability in fundamental areas such as health, education, social and economic rights and housing.

Therefore, she said, more than simple criticism of the government's omissions, what is necessary is a clamor for dynamic action in favor of the indigenous population.

The CDHDF report informed that more than 200 children die each day in Mexico from malnutrition and bad living conditions, diarrhea, lack of medical attention or access to clean water.

The NGO proposed urgent measures of physical security and comprehensive protection for indigenous children and youth.
