NEW YORK CITY, Oct 31 - The annual village halloween day parade kicked off yesterday with delight and fright. The parade came complete with rock and roll zombie floats, men and women on stilts, music, and flesh eating brides. The costumes were creative and crafty with everything from Where's Waldo, the Joker, mr. and ms. Lego, a scene from the tv show "cops", and the entire cast from the Wizard of Oz. Thousands gathered yesterday to celebrate what appeared to this reporter as good clean fun.

The parade was a delight for people of all ages and it seems to me that these days sometimes that's exactly what is needed.

I was in New York over Halloween once several years ago, before Halloween was so commercialised in the UK. It was just a phenomenal experience; thanks, JTshockley, for bringing back some fantastic memories.

Nice work. It must've been a rough assignment! I really enjoy the weeklong event that is Halloween in NYC.
