When I first saw this story I thought "I'm sure it's not that bad". I thought it would be like candy cigarettes, but one look at the picture and you will see why the police are concerned.

It would be very difficult to tell if a person is handing someone drugs or candy. I cannot believe that this product went through the whole developement proccess at at Hershey without thrownig up any red flags?

HERSHEY, Pa. - Some police said Friday that they are not happy about a new candy made by the Hershey Company. The new candy is named "Ice Breakers Pacs" and it recently hit the market.

They are made of two small dissolvable mint strips sealed around a powdered sweetener.

Police in Philadelphia said they look too much like powdered drugs, such as crack or heroin.

A spokesperson for the Hershey Company said Friday, ?the product is clearly labeled with product identification, ingredients and nutritional information and is clearly branded as an ice breakers item.?

Wow. That one will throw up a lot of "white noise" for cops on the lookout for drug activity... That's even more suggestive than those colored candy dots lined up on bits of paper!

I agree with both of you. I still cannot believe they let these through the complete process. Maybe they have never seen drugs dispensed in thi manner?
