My mom sent me this one: a kid from my old high school was busted whilst trying to hijack a plane, apparently, though details remain sparse. Originally, the buzz was that the kid was going to crash the jacked plane into a Miley Cyrus concert, but that turned out (funny enough) to be untrue. NHS has a rich tradition of supporting alternative music, but I'm glad to hear that nobody's taken their anti-pop stance to the point of mass murder.

A 16-year-old Novato boy will return from Nashville to California to face charges in connection with his alleged plot to hijack a Southwest Airlines flight and on other charges he faces here.

The unidentified teen entered a guilty plea to undisclosed state charges this morning in the Davidson County Juvenile Court, said Susan Niland, director of communications with the Davidson County District Attorney General's office.

Niland said the teen was arrested for "a delinquent act" and Judge Betty Adams Green did not enter a disposition in the case. It's uncertain when the teen will be brought back to California.

The FBI dismissed broadcast reports Thursday night that the teen was planning to crash the plane into a "Hannah Montana" concert in Lafayette, La.

Bolds said it
has not been determined if the boy was trying to crash the plane. He
said authorities searched the teen's home in California and found a
mock cockpit.

One is left to wonder just how detailed the "mock cockpit" was.

The important thing is that nobody was hurt, and both Miley Cyrus and her Hanna Montan alter ego are safe from marauding jet liners.
