The issue of climate change action has exploded in the UK in recent months, after the Treasury-commissioned Stern Review warned that the economic effects of global warming will be catastrophic.

Fuelled by Stern and Gore, a proportion of British householders are now eagerly swapping their lightbulbs for low energy versions, relying on their own body heat to keep them warm and turning off the tap when they brush their teeth. A small protest in the face of the cynicism of global industry.

More than 20,000 people rallied in London at the weekend, calling for urgent action on climate change ahead of today's UN conference on the issues in Nairobi.
