Long's Drugs on the Alameda not crowded

I went to the new Long's Drugs on the Alameda in San Jose today. 
This stretch of the Alameda between Santa Clara University and downtown
San Jose should have great potential, and a Whole Foods is coming next
year.  But the Long's Drugs was empty apart from me.  Can
this corridor support retail?  More news at 11.
