Los Angeles Latino groups claim increase in bus fairs racist- even though Latino takes credit for hike

No-- this is not a story that I had hoped to get in the recently shuttered weekly world news-- NOR is this an item I am preparing as a sample to get that writing job at THE ONION--- sadly ladies and gentlemen- is a true story in this- July 2007-- from my wonderful hometown of Los Angeles.

There are a large number of latinos in Los Angeles- Latino's of all skin tones, gender nationalities and immigration status-but NOT of the highest level intellectually who think that the reason the city put into effect its first hike in bus fairs for close to a decade is racism- even thought they acknowledge that the person responsible for the hike is one of their own- mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

So-- is it just me- or do you agree with my statement: that anyone who is spouting racism here is completely full of crap?

A decade ago- I could purchase my favorite beverage- a 20 oz coke a cola- for $1.05-- now- its $1.61- but until last months hike it would have been the same price to hit thr road via the mta .. With the cost increase in fuel alone- how could this have happened not happened sooner is a more intelligent question- now isnt it????
