What's happening to Luca Toni? Is he really going to have to get surgery on his foot?

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has broken off all communications with Fiorentina.

Moratti yesterday confirmed they had no plans to move for Fiorentina striker Luca Toni, instead relying on talks with Chelsea to clinch a deal for Hernan Crespo.

The Inter supremo refuses to consider doing business with Fiorentina after the way he was treated last summer by the Della Valle family over his failed bid to prise Toni away from Florence.

And it looks like the surgery will now go ahead (this is from the official UEFA site:

Luca Toni will miss ACF Fiorentina's final push for a UEFA Cup spot and, more than likely, Italy's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers in the Faroe Islands and Lithuania after deciding to have surgery on his injured left foot.
