After three years of research, the early summer of 2007 will see the publication of an entirely revised version of Double-Edged: a Change of Heart, ISBN: 978-1-84753-471-2, a novel written by Tony Harris, with more than a twist in its tail. Telling of an exciting and highly dangerous mission to counter the plans of criminals, intent on profiting from the distress of those displaced by climate change. The story moves rapidly from Europe to the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />US, then back to Spain and the sands of North Africa, before leaping forward to the year of 2050. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The importance of the climatic perils threatening the world are far from being overshadowed by the exciting stories within the various chapters, which hold the readers attention with accounts of multinational investigators faced with endless problems, from having to hijack a light aircraft, learning to come to terms with the problems of sexuality in this modern world, even finding themselves living in the desert with a host who might well slit their throats, besides discovering the strengths behind the resurrected Knights Templar, who have foreseen how global warming might change our planet.
Whilst a work of fiction, the plot does quote from the official forecasted effects of Global Warming, as accurately as this controversial and forever changing subject will allow. Hardly a day goes by without revisions being issued. Originally we were all going to fry to death, but recently Essex university, who many years ago initiated the whole affair, now say the only ones of us to fry, will be those who survive an ice-age ahead of the extreme heat. I quoted this in my earlier book Knight without Armour, and that was written a couple of years ago. Further details of the book will be announced shortly.
