Newbery Award-winning Author Madeleine L’Engle, who’s known mostly for her novel “A Wrinkle in Time,” has died at the age of 88, her publicist said Friday

She wrote more than 60 books, which include poetry, memoirs, fantasies and often feature spiritual themes and her Christian faith. L’Engle followed “A Wrinkle in Time” with further adventures of the Murry children, including “A Wind in the Door,” 1973; “A Swiftly Tilting Planet,” 1978, which won an American Book Award; and “Many Waters,” 1986.
