I've had a few calls tonight. Apparently major sections of the West Side are without Power. The area near 1st and Oak is in complete darkness. There are no street lights.

I was driving home from the Western Front at about 9:15 and there were
at least 6 giant fire engines on Oak street at 12th, and more on the
way. I am not sure what they were doing really. There were no lights at
all - no traffic lights or street lights either. It was completely out
between Oak and Burrard and as far as you could see on either side.
Vaguely dramatic. The thing that gets me is how instantly you feel like
you are in a tiny tiny settlement on the edge of complete nothingness.
And then, when you get back into the glowing shade of streetlights you
notice how the world as you know it just snaps back into place.
At Burrard there was another fire engine and as I passed it the
streetlights popped on in a pale blue light and then it was over.
