TruemorsFormer prime minster Nawaz Sharif came out of Lahore airportat about 7.35pm PST and left for the shrine of Data Darbar amid a procession of leaders of his party, PML-N, and thousands of party supporters. Earlier he and brother Shahbaz Sharif were moving very slowly in a cordon of security personnel at Allam Iqbal International Airport. The plane carrying about 40 people that included his wife Kulsoom, Shahbaz Sharif other members of the family and party leaders landed at Lahore airport at about 6pm PST. At least 6,000 security personnel were deployed to maintain law and order at the airport and the city.
