This wharf is extremely busy this time of year with people buying fresh seafood straight from the fishermen. Lucky more people weren't injured.

A man has suffered spinal injuries after a wharf collapsed on the Gold Coast.

It seemed that the man was unloading a prawn trawler at Southport's Fisherman's Cooperative Wharf
when the wharf collapsed. He has been taken to the Gold Coast Base Hospital.

The Water Police and Workplace Health and Safety are investigating the incident.
