Security officials at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport in North Carolina are searching airplanes after a man apparently slipped through security shortly before 8am EST. The concourse was shut down, too, but he hasn't been found yet.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Authorities searched about six airplanes at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport on Friday after a man bypassed security screening, at Transportation Security Administration spokesman said.

The man had slipped past screeners shortly before 8 a.m., agency spokesman John Allen said. Officials shut down a concourse but did not immediately find the man.
"It's too soon to say whether there was malicious intent or whether it was someone who was confused," Allen said.
Allen said officials are searching about a half-dozen planes, but 10 others left before officials were able to search the flights. He said passengers on those flights will be reverse-screened when they land.

I don't understand: how did they know he slipped past them if he, well, slipped past them? If they knew what he had done, could they not find him at one of the gates?
