Many St Louisians are without fridges, freezers, air conditioning, power for their vital medical equipment, or indeed, any sort of electricity at all, as the blackouts that are blighting the US continue.
Nearly a quarter-million homes and businesses still had no electricity Monday as the city struggled to recover from last week's devastating thunderstorms. The blackout has kept air conditioners from cooling homes since Wednesday, while temperatures outside soared into triple digits.

The image was taken about 60 miles Southwest from St. Louis in Potosi. It was the same storm that hit St. Louis and moved down here. This should give you an idea of how large and devasting the storm was.
