NEXT WEEKEND, one of the biggest hip-hop shows ever put together rolls into Polson Pier, a.k.a. The Docks, for two days of beats, fashion, cars, graffiti and rapping of all varieties. The Getting Up Festival brings some of the biggest names in U.S. and Canadian hip-hop together, mixing the diverse worlds of hot Southern party rap and politically conscious East Coast rhyming, and adding a dash of West Coast Canadiana.

Headliners include multiplatinum sellers Kanye West, Lil Jon, Ciara and Ludacris as well as serious thinkers Mos Def and Talib Kweli, smooth R&B singers Jully Black and Brooke Valentine and homegrown rapper Kardinal Offishall.

After Kanye's emberrassing outbursts at the European MTV awards - just this question - is he a risk or an added fun factor for the media?

I recommend a good psychiatrist and some Ritalin!
