A memorial to veteran singer George Melly is being planned in Brecon by the organisers of the town's jazz festival. They are also in talks about holding a concert at next month's festival in memory of the performer, who died at the age of 80 last week.
Event director Jim Smith said proposals were for a plaque or a statue of Melly, one of Brecon jazz's founding patrons, but plans were still under discussion.
Melly opened the first festival in 1983. He also owned a home near Brecon.
Mr Smith said there would be an announcement about a planned concert before the start of the four-day festival, which starts on 9 August.
