Pasadena, CA/ Jan 17, 2006 Thousands of web-hits crashed Mentor Street's Server after announcing an Open Call to their National
acting contest. Award-winning, independent filmmaker Rolf Schrader launched a national contest that lets young hopefuls win a part in his upcoming thriller Dead Girls Club. Similar to American Idol, it will be America that determines which actors gets a trip for two to Los Angeles and a paid feature role in the movie to be produced late May, 2006.

The acting contest is aimed at 15 to 25 year-olds,
as all entrants must be able to play a high school
teenager. "It’s free and so very, very easy to enter.
Just grab a video camera, webcam, or whatever you
can get your hands on - point and shoot. We're not
looking for production value. We're looking for fresh
faces and raw talent," says Schrader.

Described as a creative blend of Heathers and The
Craft, Dead Girls Club follows a teenage club initiation
that goes horribly wrong. Though the film is very
scary and based on Native American lore, it is not a
slasher film. The movie also addresses social issues
facing young Americans: the radical rise of teen girl
violence and how peer-pressure can lead to the evil
of silence. Inspired by actual events in Schrader's
family "the film gives me an opportunity to address
growing social issues facing youth today and
hopefully incite discussion by teenagers and families,"
stresses Schrader.

Holding this innovative contest on the film's official
website, Schrader appreciates how hard it is to break
into the entertainment industry. "Our American
Scream Queen & King Contest is all about giving both
new faces and those who can't travel to Hollywood a
shot at their dream." Wtih a little luck and lots of
talent people can web-surf their way into a Hollywood movie.
