Metro makeover

Traveling through Detroit Metro Airport used to be one of the nation's worst experiences in aviation, with outdated, cramped facilities and foot-wearying hikes from ticket counters to gates.

The opening of Metro's McNamara Terminal in 2002 improved life immeasurably for passengers of Northwest Airlines and its partners. Now, passengers on the other airlines that use Metro are to get their own new terminal in 2008.
