A demonstration on Saturday August 12, 2006 in Toronto, calling for an immediate end to the bombing of southern Lebanon.
From what I could tell the coalition consisted of various groups
including (but was not limited to) Muslims, Jews, Christians,
Buddhists,Seikhs , Arabs of various flavors, Canadian First Nations
People, Iranians, Turks, Communists, Socialists, Trade Unions(just to
name a few)
Considering the many different ideologies (and
agendas) of these groups, the unified call for peace was a very
powerful counter balance to our government’s unfortunate (and
unCanadian) position on these issues in recent years.
