This is bound to blow up real good: the NFL is offering insanely cheap tickets to prominent public officials in Florida - at upwards of one-fifth the value of what fans would have to pay to online scalpers.
According to this incredible report at the Miami Herald, Miami-Dade County Manager George Burgess and Miami-Dade Commissioner Natacha Seijas are buying Super Bowl tickets at face value. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez will not.

The National Football League is offering Super Bowl tickets to high-ranking public officials across South Florida at prices far below what the general public could hope to pay.

Some have turned down the offer as an improper gift; others are buying up all they're offered and more.

The tickets, which have a face value of $600 to $700, sell for five times that amount through online resellers -- where most football fans are forced to buy.
