MILAN, Italy (AP) - AC Milan advanced to the
Champions League semifinals on Tuesday after its match against city
rival Inter Milan ended early because fans threw fireworks onto the
field.

Milan was leading 1-0 and looked set to advance 3-0
on aggregate when the game was stopped in the 73rd minute after Milan
goalkeeper Dida was hit by a flare thrown from the stands.

The referee called off the match when more fireworks were thrown as he tried to restart play.

Andriy Shevchenko scored the only goal in the 30th minute.

Milan
was awarded a 1-0 win, although UEFA's disciplinary committee could
decide to award Milan a 3-0 victory after an investigation. Inter was
the home team Tuesday.
