The Millau Viaduct is a cable-stayed road bridge
that spans the valley of the River Tarns near Millau is southern
France. It was designed by an English architect named Norman Foster and a French bridge engineer Michel Virlogeux.
It is the tallest vehicular bridge in the world, with one of the masts
at 343m (1124ft), slightly taller than the Eiffel tower and 38m shorter
than the Empire State Building.
