The 7-year-old girl's pitiful cries for help could be heard throughout the night, alarming neighbours. China Press reported that this suspected case of child abuse happened in Seremban. Neighbours told the Chinese daily that the girl was believed to have been locked up by her mother since 12 midnight on Sunday. She was heard crying throughout the night: 'Mum, mum, please let me out!' It was the next day, at about 10am, that someone called the police to end the little girl's ordeal. Police arrived shortly after and asked the mother to release the girl. The police warned the mother not to do it again. It was unknown why the girl was locked up by her mother in the cage. But China Press reported that the girl was believed to have been repeatedly abused. CHASED OUT Other than being caged up, neighbours said that they also saw her being chased out of the house. Said one neighbour: 'She was left standing outside the door waiting for up to four hours before her family opened the door and let her in. She was so pitiful.' According to the China Press reporter, the small cage where the girl was locked up in was placed just beside a kennel. But it was unclear how big the cage was.
