EC president to help lift ban on RI airline flights to Europe

Speaking at a joint press conference with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono after a bilateral meeting at the State Palace here on Friday, Barroso said he and the European Commission would do whatever they could to speed up the lifting of the ban.

He said all things would be done to meet Indonesia`s request to lift the ban on Indonesian airline flights to Europe.

On the occasion, Barroso said he respected Indonesia`s efforts issue to improve the technical standards of the safety of its flights at home and to Europe.

Meanwhile, President Yudhoyono said at his meeting with the European Commission leader, the Indonesian government had asked the European Union to lift the ban on Indonesian airline flights to Europe.
