ICC chairman: Indonesia`s competitiveness drops in 2007

Flanked by Chairman of the Professional Certification National Agency Moedjiman, and chairman of the competitiveness enhancement standing committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Makfudin Wirya Atmaja, he told a press conference on Indonesia`s competitiveness Daya Saing Indonesia that among the ASEAN member countries, Singapore ranked 7th in the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), Malaysia 21st, and Thailand 28th, Indonesia the 71st, and Vietnam 68th.

The ICC chairman said that the Indonesian economy cannot for its competitiveness merely depend on its comparative edges, especially on exploiting its non-renewable natural resources.
