"Year-to-date inflation to November is still around 5, even we have a high month-on-month number in December, it will take the (full year) number within 6 percent, maybe between 6.3-6.7 percent," senior deputy governor Miranda Goeltom said.
The statistics bureau reported on Monday the consumer price index rose 6.71 percent last month from a year ago, compared with a 6.87 percent increase forecast in a Reuters poll and a 6.88 percent gain in October.
Goeltom declined to comment on whether the central bank would cut its benchmark interest rate, known as BI rate, when its board of governors meet to decide policy on Thursday.
Analysts are divided over whether the central bank will lower the BI rate from 8.25 percent currently.
