Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia's central bank intervened on Friday
to prop up the rupiah currency and is prepared to take more action if
necessary, deputy governor Hartadi Sarwono told Reuters on Monday.

Sarwono also repeated that falls in the rupiah, Asia's worst performing currency this year, were likely to be temporary.

The rupiah ended last week trading at 9,320/9,325 to the dollar compared with 9,122/9,128 to the dollar a week earlier. (*) END
