Indonesian festival opens in Melbourne

"The trade volume between Indonesia and Australia in 2006 reached 10.4 billion dollars, making Indonesia Australia`s 13th biggest trade partner," he said.

He said the Australian people would get better knowledge about the beauty of Indonesia through the festival.

At present, at least 400 Australian companies are operating in Indonesia. Indonesia is still offering wide opportunities beyond the mining and infrastructure sectors for Australian investors, he said.

Running for two days, the festival displayed Indonesian export commodities through 35 trade stands set up by individuals, partnerships and regional governments.
