"I think Temasek is showing its intention to bow to and abide by the KPPU`s decision by exercising its right to appeal the ruling," Andreas H Pareira, a member of the House of Representatives Commission for defense, information and foreign affairs, said.

Andreas of the Indonesian Democratic Party-Struggle (PDIP) was commenting on Vice President Jusuf Kalla`s statement that Temasek must abide by the KPPU`s ruling as it had proven to practice monopoly through cross-ownership of Indonesia`s two largest cellular phone operators, Telkomsel and Indosat.

"The Indonesian anti-monopoly law was enacted at the IMF`s request," Jusuf Kalla said.

The law bars a company from having a controlling stake in another company in the same business sector with a market share of 50 percent or more.
