A lull in India's annual monsoon rains, vital for the country's farm-dependent economy, will persist for two to three days more, but the situation is not alarming, a weather department official said on Wednesday.

The four-month monsoon is the main source of water for irrigation in India's vast farmlands, so healthy rains help agricultural output, which directly contributes a fifth of India's gross domestic product.
