I am a 58 year old son-of-a-preacher-man, ex-street kid, recovering bankrupt, semi-retired world citizen. I have a wonderful wife of 33 years, who I love more every day, and three grown children, two boys and a girl who I am very proud of. I have worked at many pursuits thus far through my life, everything from pinball machine repairman, newspaper reporter/photographer to entrepreneur importing and distributing Yerba Maté from Argentina and Brazil in Canada and the USA.
Currently I am writing a Sci-Fi novel, practicing Personal Coaching
specializing in the increasingly challenging realm of relationships,
re-engaging with my true love, photography, putting in hundreds of
hours on political activism, and taking care of our home as my wife
flies off around the world doing what she loves.
As to who I AM: I am a wide awake introvert/extrovert music
lover who was blessed/cursed with almost psychic empathy, a huge
world view, an innate ability to see trends developing, a conscience, and a powerful desire to see the "human condition" alter and come to its positive possible fruition. For many years I self-medicated to manage the intensity of my experience and still do sometimes. I am an avid science lover, humanist, naturalist, ontologist, and am highly
trained in listening to and seeing the complexity of people's behavior hidden behind what they are saying and doing. I LOVE helping people, and unfortunately feel everyone's pain deeply. Though I have male friends I prefer the company of women. I have a forceful personality and don't do small talk, so those I meet either love me or hate me. I am totally OK with that and am completely comfortable within my own skin. I am an extremely loyal friend, quick to anger and even faster to forgive and move on. I am an atheist, and though I have an enormous sense of wonder and appreciation for the numinous nature of this amazing place and experience, I refuse to engage in any form of organized religion. I do not need that kind of assurance in my life but do have a powerful faith in the future. I respect all religions providing they make no attempt to intrude into my life, nor promulgate violence or dominion over others for any reason. I am an environmentalist and have been for three decades, am completely NOT a racist, and work constantly on dis-allowing the automatic paranoid judgment mode of hard-wired human nature from running me. I look upon each human being as an individual and yet as a part of one
organism.
I avoided "politics" for most of my life as I saw it at a very young
age for what it truly is, and though many of my friends and associates have requested I enter politics I never did as I was always unwilling to give up my principles and allow the inevitable corruption of that pursuit into my life.
I am not a capitalist, socialist, or communist and believe that every
system we have tried for organizing ourselves along political/economic/religious lines have been abject failures at serving The People every time. I am not certain what will work but keep on looking and believe we can coexist, prosper and move forward.
I am ready for the stars and what is possible for Humans if we can each just take 100% personal responsibility for every aspect our own lives and work together with genuine respect and common goals.
