Fighting in Gaza worsened today leaving at least a dozen dead. Hamas militants raided a senior Fatah security official's home, killing six guards inside said a Fatah spokeman. Rashid Abu Shbak, the official, was not at home at the time.
Hamas also accidentally killed five of their own when they attacked a Palestinian security vehicle transporting the fighters after they had been detained according to a report on Israel Radio.
At the international press corp headquarters in Gaza City, dozens of journalists are trapped due to a raging gun battle between Hamas and Fatah according to a report by CNN.
On Tuesday, Hamas militants attacked PA security forces that remain loyal to Fatah, killing nine said Fatah officials. The attack on troops loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas calls into question Abbas' ability to maintain control over the two-month-old unity government.
Since the Hamas-Fatah ceasefire crumbled on Sunday, 41 people have been killed and scores wounded.
