With China's food safety back in the news, one wonders  if  the Chinese government can ever stop the greed of unscrupulous manufacturers. It has been reported that executions of corporate officials who are found guilty of food tampering isn't stopping the flow of dangerous goods for the Western Market.  Those most at risk may be asians who yearn for market goods from home with familiar names or asian restaurants who wish to serve authentic foods to their clients. Trade embargo's may be the only solution. For the time being consumers have to be aware of counterfeit foods from China, and if the Dollar Store price is too good to be true, it could have deadly consequences.

My Final Thought

Maybe Organic Food Advocates who for years have been telling us to buy local may be on the something.

China's dismal health and safety record - both within and outside its borders - has increasingly come under the spotlight as its goods make their way to global markets. Major buyers like the United States, Japan, and the European Union have pushed Beijing to improve inspections.
