Morrissey Cancels Madison Square Garden Concert
A few days ago we reported that Morrissey had
to cancel his performance at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston on
June 30 after playing only seven songs due to a throat infection (Morrissey Quits Boston Show after Seven Songs).
Today it has been confirmed that his concert at Madison Square Garden
in New York, Scheduled for tomorrow (June 30) has also been cancelled.
The recent cancellation is the third show the former Smiths' man has
had to cancel due to infection; he previously cancelled two east coast
shows. The Madison Square Garden performance is currently being
rescheduled and a new date is expected to be announced on Monday (July
2). The two previously cancelled east coast gigs have yet to be
rescheduled and may be cancelled indefinitely. Morrissey still plans to
perform at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia on July 2 and at the PNC Bank
Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on July 6.
