Sorry to disagree, but Politicians do not play a role in consumer spending, especially those consumers who live beyond their means. There is a good reason why consumers want the champagne lifestyle on a beer budget, Easy credit, short term low interest charges as an enticement. I would blame the banks for allowing everyone credit regardless of their ability to pay for it. If the Government started regulating what we could spend and pay back we would be in the shit for sure.
