MP Visits Carlyon Centre
Fri, 9th Feb 2007
In a Effort to drum up support for Carlyon’s cause, MP for Brent North Barry Gardiner visited the factory for a tour and to talk with the disabled workers and management team.
With a army of reporters and a photographer at hand, Mr Gardiner and various councillers offering there support for Carlyon posed for pictures with the staff and found out what went on behind the scenes at the busy print shop.
Work and messages of support have been flooding into Carlyon Centre, with people offering to make a stand with carlyon for their cause, along with others with offers of printing & design work.
Carlyon is under threat from Brent Council who see the local authority owned business as loss maker, but are failing to make the proper investment of time and money into the project.
The disabled workers of Carlyon have recently written to 17 leading MPs of parliament in the hope they can build interest in Carlyon Centre and its work. They also have a online petition for anyone to sign at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/carlyon/
If you think you can help Carlyon in anyway or just wish to offer your support, please call +44 020 8998 0067 and ask to speak to one of the managment team.
