Another reason to not trust the transparent unprofessionalism at MSNBC. I have been pointing out that the whole production team from Dan Abrams down is making a mockery of objective news. that is why they are last in all cable numbers.
UPDATE: Joe and Mika discuss this NB item. See below.Joe Scarborough has pulled back the curtain on the liberal bias at MSNBC, describing an incident in which people in its newsroom ceaselessly booed President Bush during a State of the Union address.
The revelation came on "Morning Joe" today at 6:02 A.M. EDT. Joe was discussing a recent episode at the Seattle Times in which reporters and editors cheered the news that Karl Rove had resigned. gmony714, Good stuff. I think you will never have a newsroom filled with people who have no opinion about politics, they would be automatons. The problem here is that it seems there is no counter balance from teh conservatives in teh newsrooms. Is that because there are none? or because tehy choose to remain silent? Its probably a mix of the two, as polls over teh years have shown that 70-80% of journalists identify themselves as liberals rather than conservatives. And conservatives by definition are not ones to be loud about their opinions.
The good news here is that these subjects are finally being broached by insiders, and actions are bing taken to minimize these episodes. No doubt, ratings (MSNBC) and print subscriptions (newspapers in general) are the catalyst.
I have always belived that in America the best manner to affect change is by voting with your pocketbook.

Good stuff. Many years ago, when I started in the news biz, it was always said that reporters tended to be liberal; but newspaper ownership and management were conservative. Although we were expected to put aside our biases, when interest or a slant did occur, the ensuing battles between editorial management and reporters pretty well shook things back out to the center.
But I don't think that happens anymore. It seems like various news outlets have an organizational slant one way or the other, and that destroys any claims of objective news.
