A man faces two counts of murder as well as assault, DUI and wanton endangerment charges after killing two in a crash as he drove the wrong way on the freeway.

A Chicago-area man faces several charges, including two counts of murder, after his car crashed into another auto as he drove westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64, according to a police spokesman in Louisville.

Two people returning home from the Kentucky Derby were killed and two others, including the driver of the wrong-way car, a BMW, were hospitalized as a result of the early morning crash Sunday in Louisville that shut down part of Interstate 64, said Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell.
