Muslim boys desecrate Catholic church in Switzerland

Via BAF, an unsettling, indeed shocking notice of a series of incidents in Switzerland, at Muttenz in Basel: the BAF post title, "How can it have happened that kids decide to smear their excrement on an altar?"  The crime is reported here, at the website of Webjournal.ch at Basel, and here at the Nouvel Observateur in France, via the AP wire.  
 
They are aged 12 and 13 and went into the church several times, urinating on the floor and in the holy water fonts, defecating and even smearing their excrement on the altar.  Two are from Serbia-Montenegro, two from Serbia-Herzegovina [the AP story says "Serbia-Montenegro" and "Bosnia-Herzegovina"--MP], and one is Swiss.  All five are boys.

 
The authorities are treating these juveniles as 'disturbed'. They have been placed in a specialised institution with medical supervision.  Because of their ages, their cases will fall under the authority of the court for minors, the primary goal of which is "the re-education of delinquents and their rapid re-introduction into ordiary society".

The AP piece in the Nouvel Observateur points out that two had already been 'institutionalised' (whatever that means, exactly) and that none of the five are Christians. The Webjournal.ch article specifies that they are, in fact, Muslims.

It is doubtless true that these poor children are psychologically disturbed and  no one wants to deal with these sacrilegious acts of vandalism in such a way that the boys' entire lives are ruined.  But, as the writer A.J.M. at BAF suggests, the source of their damaged psyches may well be found in the way that their religion has been taught to them:

... (I)t is perfectly clear, from common Muslim practice, that "those who have incurred the anger of God" are the Jews and "those who have been lead astray" are the Christians [A.J.M. is citing the first sura of the Qu'uran, the Al-Fatiha--MP].   This discrimination, hammered into the spirit of Muslims by many daily repetitions ad vitam, is solidified, amplified, transformed into a duty to hate and into imperatives to kill and to mutilate, by the Qu'uranic sura which tirelessly resume the theme of the book. 

As obvious as it is that not all Muslims 'read' their prayers and their holy book to mean that they have 'a duty to hate, to kill, to mutilate', some do, many do: and these many have children, alas, who will quite likely heed their parents' pernicious and deadly interpretation of Islam.
