Muslim Outrage at United kingdom
The Popular Alliance has commented on the recent events as they unfold about the knighthood of Sir Salman Rushdie who wrote the book Satanic Verses. The news of his Knighthood has sparked yet another Muslim outrage with Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Minister Ejaz-ul-Haq causing uproar in parliament when he was accused of inciting violence during a debate of Sir Salman’s knighthood.
“If someone commits suicide bombing to protect the honour of the Prophet Mohammad, his act is justified,” he said
A few moments later the minister had to return to the floor of the assembly to say that he was not trying to condone or incite terrorism but to stress its origins.
A Popular Alliance spokesman said ” I cannot understand why they did not use the good old statement “I was taken out of context” which seems to be a terrorist’s best defence when they believe their collars are being felt. But, more importantly, why hasn’t Blair or his weak government condemned this action, why has the foreign office not issued a very strong warning that we will not tolerate terrorists or incitement even if they do happen to be in the Pakistan government?”
“Perhaps Teflon Tony is too preoccupied dreaming of being the next EU president after he tries to sign away the UK’s sovereignty.”
However, Pakistan’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sher Afgan Khan Niazi, who proposed Monday’s resolution in the National Assembly, said the knighthood would “encourage people to commit blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammad”.
On Sunday, Iran also criticised the knighthood, saying praising the “apostate” showed Islamophobia among British officials.
The Popular Alliance also commented on the so called “moderate” Muslim council of Britain “sticking its two penneth worth in” by issuing a statement on their website which reads as follows
MCB Response to Rushdie’s Knighthood
Tuesday 19 June 2007
Salman Rushdie earned notoriety throughout the world amongst Muslims for the highly insulting and vilifying manner in which he portrayed early Islamic figures. The granting of a knighthood to him can only do further harm to our country’s image in the Muslim world. The MCB considers it yet another example of insensitivity to Muslim opinion that will only result in their further alienation.
“In the face of such provocation, the MCB urges Muslims everywhere to exercise calm and restraint. The best way to honour our beloved Prophet is to remember him, and tell fellow human beings of his love, compassion and mercy.”
The Popular Alliance questions why it has not condemned the terror supporting Pakistan MP who was obviously inciting murder by calling for suicide bombers to rise up.
If you read the first paragraph, they are basically saying to all Muslims “do not integrate” as well as trying to whip up an incident with the word “provocation” to which they can reply if a bombing occurs , “well we told you so”
The spokesman said “This extreme organisation needs to be banned for its shameful act of trying to alienate communities and “incite” unrest amongst the Muslims”.
“If Muslims do not like the book, then they don’t have to read it, it’s a simple choice, as is the choice to live in a western country where all are equal under ONE law to live in peace”.
