After reading the many ideas set forth in so many diet books, and looking back over my life, I've decided to eat anything (in moderation) that is natural, not process, refined or chemically modified. I remember watching my mother fry bacon in an iron skillet, removing the bacon and cracking fresh eggs into the sizzling bacon grease. Ummm what flavor and taste. I slathered butter onto my toast and pure maple syrup all over my pancakes and waffles.
Guess what happened to me. When I joined the Navy I weighed 150 pounds and had a 29 inch waist. Eating her "FAT" foods never put a pound on me. Of course I was an active boy who never sat at home watching something but was always out playing.
And now...many, many years later (born in 1941) I weigh 180 pounds and my waist is 33". So, I've put on a few pounds but not too bad. And all my life I've refrained from the low-fat, no-fat diets but eaten natural foods, whole grains and such.
As for the pizza? Well, about once a month my wife and I treat ourselves to this caloric monster just for fun.
