LONG POND, Pa. — Have NASCAR officials completely lost control of their star drivers?

That’s
the way it’s looking this summer, and during the tour’s last off week
of the season, leading into the Brickyard 400, Daytona executives might
have to rethink their game plan for dealing with angry racers — because
things are going from bad to worse.

Tony Stewart bore the brunt
of the heat Sunday for crashing Clint Bowyer into Carl Edwards, and the
two victims were literally ready to fight Stewart after the race,
although they managed to hold their emotions in check.
