Natalee Holloway Two Years Later--What Have We Really Learned?

Unfortunately, it has been over two years since Natalee Holloway vanished after last being seen with Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers in Aruba during her high school graduation trip. Within the past 24 months an astounding amount of information has surfaced, yet nothing has happened. No one has been prosecuted. The media fed and continues to feed lies and teasers; Aruba feeds more lies and unseen “fireworks” and "big breaks" in the case.
We learned that Joran came up with approximately 20 different lies about what happened that night with Natalee. We learned that the Kalpoe brothers not only have many lies, but different accounts as to what happened to Natalee. We learned that Joran’s father was involved in Natalee’s disappearance. His involvement may never be known, but we do know that he not only lied, but was complicit in the cover-up and ongoing conspiracy of Natalee’s disappearance. We learned the infamous phrase, “No body, no case”. We learned of Paulus’ “clout” on the island as well as his best friends, business colleagues and dirty connections.
We learned of Steve Croes, the false witness who lied in order to put two innocent security men behind bars. We learned of other witnesses that came forward, yet mysteriously “disappeared”, retracted their statements, or were deported for unknown reasons.
We learned that Natalee was declared dead on June 10, 2005, yet later the statement was retracted. Did she miraculously rise from the dead? Who was the “dead person” they found?
We learned about and watched the “Arubay videos” and the infamous missing video that could blow the case open which a man named Ed Smith claims to have. We learned that the Aruba Visibility Team was at the scene where the footage was taped and “something” was found. Rocks were painted with an unknown substance. Items of importance or possible forensic evidence were found and quickly discarded like used tissue. A picture of a white garbage bag with something eerily human inside surfaced on the internet and in the American papers. A man was photographed carrying a scrap of material matching Natalee’s shirt. A bone was found. We were told things were sent to Holland for forensic testing, yet we heard nothing.
Suspects came and went like a revolving door…yet nothing surfaced. It is Aruba’s longest running “circus festival”…will we ever see a just and fair finale?
We learned that the police investigator Gerold Dompig stated that the three boys were “guilty as hell”. We learned Dompig is related to a well-known local “beach bum drug dealer” and the Kalpoe brothers. Dompig’s son, Michael, who was also known to hang out with “the pimps” told a source that hours before Beth Twitty arrived on the island he saw Joran, Koen Gottenbos and Deepak take Koen’s boat out into the ocean. Dompig ended his career after he went on national television and stated that Natalee likely died of an “overdose”.
We learned that Aruba has suffered greatly because of this tragedy that did not have to escalate. The boycott of Aruba has stymied their economy and their reputation has been forever damaged.
Yet, with all this information and much more that could fill a book (and that book is called Aruba: The Tragic Untold Story of Natalee Holloway and Corruption in Paradise) NOTHING has happened.
We are now waiting on the Dutch to decide Natalee’s fate. Will she receive her due JUSTICE? Will Joran et al walk away scott free? What will come of the Kalpoe’s lawsuit against Dr. Phil and Dave and Beth’s suit against the Kalpoe’s for wrongful death? Will we ever really learn the truth? Will Natalee ever really receive justice?
Two years is a long time to lie…the consequence of continued lying? The INDEFINITE boycott of Aruba and everything Dutch.

I live in aruba and i've been living here for my whole life and NOTHING like this has happend before.
Do you know how LITTLE Aruba is? Everyone knows everyone here so it's stupid not to find a girl that's been missing.
Plus she isn't the first missing person on the planet right? so why make a big deal out of it. We know that it's hard for the parents but what do you think other parents feel like? that suddenly some girl was gone missing in Aruba and everyone went looking for her. I bet other parents who had a child and has gone missing feel horrible because no one searched for their child so much as they searched for Natalee Holloway.
In all respect for her ,i have nothing against her and her parents but have you wondered that maybe her OWN mother had something to do with it? that she wanted maybe publicity? you know how much money she gets while doing interviews and the movie she made that's coming soon.
If you want to tell everyone how horrible aruba is because someone went missing why don't you tell everyone how horrible the other lands/islands are because BUNCH of people went missing? People don't do that just for fun huh? They do it so they can get money out of it!

i agree with you i mean yea she went missing but why does the whole world have to look for just her why cant they look for other missing kids as well while they are at it. its not like she's a celebrity or something. I do hope they do find her cause its starting to get annoying on how they found this they found that but they aren't sure if its linked to her where abouts or if shes dead or alive. they should at least tell us how long it will take and if she has a chance of survival. i mean yea she could have been drinking since its legal down there but are they certain it was enough to kill her and with the drugs are they certain it was illegal drugs or if it was tylenol or something for the hangovers, they really dont know what happened to her and they keep saying they have a lead or evidence and witnesses when they really dont cause the lead brings them to another dead end, the evidence isnt what they are looking for and the witnesses keep changing their stories. what about the three boys who were last seen with her, they also keep changing their stories did they really dump her body or are they lieing maybe they have a cabin or something and are hiding her or they hid her in one of their houses or a friends house we really wont know until this is solved. I hope its solved cause maybe she is still alive some where or trying to live and the longer this case takes the shorter her life span gets.

And as for "an innocent 18 year old girl"...she couldn't have been THAT innocent if she was drunk and slutty enough to take off with 3 MALES that she had literally just met. I don't know about anyone else, but my mother brought me up with morals, enough for me to know not to get into a car with 3 strange boys that are probably only out to use me. A lot of people go missing everywhere and the reason why there are seach parties for them are because people care about that person.The parents and friends of the missing person(s) organize those things.That is why Natalee had so many people looking for her because people care about her NOT for the fun of it NOT for the publicity or the money.I am a mother and if my child ever went missing NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY/STATE IT WAS IN i would have done what Natalee's family and friends did.

She was not being searched for because she was an American girl that went missing on you island. She is no different from people who go missing in America. Natalie Holloway had a Mother & Father that loved her very much. She also had extended family that loved her. As in Aruba & America we have families that dont have the resources to keep the story alive. The Holloways are never going to give up on Natalie. So you might as well get you some Ice tea & straw and sit back in chase lounge and sip your tea & relax until Old Man Justice is done and Natalie is found. This family is not trying to profit from this. They have been advocates for other missing children & adults. Please know the facts. Natalie was just a teenager who came to Aruba with her graduating class. She was a very intelligent young lady who had College ahead of her, and a life that was taken much to soon. Isn't it odd that after all of this time, I mean after all of the centuries and millennia of the victimization of humanity and especially those of the female gender that some creep can still have the unmitigated gall to blame the victim of a crime?
...And despite what anybody says, this IS a crime.
...she was no more of a "slut" than the hormonally challenged males who seem to somehow despise women who engage in sex with just as much pleasure as they do.
...And what was it I read the other day about one of the suspects, you know, the innocent dutch boy, being caught in Bangkok trying to "buy a girl"?
Don't get me wrong, I DO feel sorry for the residents of Aruba, a virtual paradise in the beautiful Caribbean, being victimized by the wealthy, not only those who look for a short time vacation and a place to act like they would never act at home, but the more sinister ones who make their living from the 'touristas" and who would be responsible for the FIASCO that this has become.
The family of this young lady, an 18 year-old, an apparently beautiful young woman with her whole life ahead of her, a college-bound honor student and a cheerleader, whose whereabouts and fate are only know to a few perpetrators, who is probably deceased and has been for a long time, just want closure.
They just want her remains to bury in a graveyard so that they can take flowers to the grave and know that at least in being dead, that she is not suffering.
This is not too much to ask.
Really, it is not...
Blame is not important now. To those of us men who have daughters and wives, what we would like to see is closure for this family and this missing young lady.
...that, my friends is not sick, that is normal...human...feelings and emotions.
I am sure that the folks of Aruba feel the same way about their loved ones.

Amen, Somebody's Father! Thank you for bringing some wisdom and intelligence to the table here. I remember when Natalee Holloway went missing. Like her, I had just graduated from high school myself, and was headed off to college. Through the years I have thought from time to time, as I would move forward in life and accomplish things, "Well, there's another thing that poor Holloway girl will never get to do." I'm about to graduate from college with a bachelor's degree in a couple of days, and again, she's on my mind. She was an honor student, and I know she had the potential to do much more with her life than I ever will, but that was taken away from her just because she was young and made a bad decision or two--just like most of us have made, only hers cost her her life. Think about that. I do, when I look back at many of the stupid things I did when I was a teenager.

This is rediculous. Aruba has nothing to do with her disaperence. its not a bad place just because someone disapered ther. people disapear everywere, and you cant blame a place for tht happening. Blame people nd those who brought them up. These three guys were sick. But i also blame her for not being responsible. Her parents allowed her to go on the trip nd be mature and she didnt do tht. she got drunk nd partied nd made a stupid choice tht most likely costed her life. Ok, Just watched the Natalee Holloway Story on LMN. Come On, Those guys know what happened to her. If the assholes wasn't tryin to cover up something they wouldn't have dumped her body. What I don't understand is, if dude admitted on tape he dumped her body, why the hell is he still free?? Sounds like a confession to me.. Yeah, People go missing everyday but 9 times outta 10 there's a conviction. In this case, it screams COVER-UP!!! She shouldn't have gotten in the car with those dudes but I'm sure she was a trusting person. Too trusting I guess.
