LONDON (AFP) - As rocketing property prices leave many struggling to buy, Britain's image as a nation of debtors was fuelled by a report that Britons hold a third of all unsecured debt in western Europe.

The average Briton owes over 3,000 pounds, almost double the region's average -- a figure attributed to the country's "buy now, pay later culture" by the report's authors, business analysts Datamonitor, on Wednesday.
