An inland Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for interior Central Florida including Polk, Desoto, Highlands and Hardee counties.

This area was hard hit in 2004 with three hurricanes including the fierce "Charlie" that crippled infrastructure and did billions in damage.

It has been nearly a month since much of the land here has seen rain, and then not much. Runoff will be a serious consideration, as will flooding and wind.

Locals should secure any loose items that are outside, and bring pets indoors for the remainder of the night.
