Fuel-economy mavens take note. Honda recently showed off an alternative to hybrid cars at a Sacramento car show: a diesel-powered Accord that is scheduled to hit the American market in 2010. Unlike a hybrid, the diesel promises more power, but it still gets a whopping 62.8 mpg.

This is my grandmother's new car. She drove a fully loaded Saturn
that she bought new in 1994 105,000 pleasurable miles and decided it
was time for something fresh with more amenities.

The buying
experience was very good. We went to a Toyota dealer to look at Camrys
where we were promptly jerked around and treated to a dismal selection.
We then drove over to the Honda dealer which had a huge selection and
the salesperson did not even come out to talk to us until it was
obvious that she had chosen which car she wanted to drive. Also, the
salesperson talked to HER instead of me and my dad. They did not try to
pitch anything unnecessary, gave her about a $2,000 year-end discount on honda accord exhaust,
and private party value for the Saturn instead of trade-in. Also, when
the first car got totaled only two months later, they sold her the
second one for the same price as the first one! I wish the Honda dealer
where I live was as nice!
