New Online Resource Makes Wedding Planning Fun Again

Engaged couples in Vancouver, and elsewhere, may feel overwhelmed with the large selection of wedding vendors in the Lower Mainland. They have less time to plan, due to busy schedules, making it difficult to meet potential vendors. During consultations, clients would ask Kathy and Steph Marliss of Marliss Productions, about how to select wedding vendors, as well as tips and trends in the industry. In response, Marliss Productions, specialists in wedding videos, recently unveiled the Posh Wedding Podcast Network, a free online bridal resource where couples watch vignettes, essentially meeting the vendors, viewing their services and you can even ask for advice. This site is both promotional and informational. Couples will be able to see hot new fashion trends, get expert make-up advice, décor ideas and much more. They will also get tips on how to prepare themselves for a consultation with a vendor making sure they know what questions to ask and what to be on the look out for.

The challenge was to create an intuitive resource that would simplify planning, be accessible to all and engage the viewers. Apple technology, specifically QuickTime and iTunes, allowed Marliss Production to create a television, or "web-ivision," network where vendors produce their own episodes, or "web-isode." Now, couples can view vendor’s webcasts in the comfort of their own home. They can also view podcasts by uploading the movie file onto their video iPods and watch it on the go. Now couples can enjoy planning by connecting to a resource based on the familiar television network platform in an aesthetically pleasing environment.

Marliss Productions, a Steveston-based company, is owned and operated by Kathy and Steph Marliss, a husband and wife team.
